Netherlands return to the World Cup stage having failed to qualify for the 2018 edition in Russia.
Oranje, under the guidance of Louis van Gaal – who was manager the last time they were in a World Cup back in 2014 – prepare their Group A action against African Cup of Nations champions Senegal.
Senegal head coach Aliou Cisse will have a tough job on his hands now that talisman and Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mane is out of the competition having suffered a tibia injury while playing for Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, van Gaal also has a number of injuries to deal with too with Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries still a doubt after being subbed off against Atalanta in Serie A and Barcelona’s Memphis Depay – yet to play since suffering a hamstring injury against Poland in September – is ruled out.
Predicted Netherlands lineup vs Senegal
Here is how the Netherlands could line up: Remko Pasveer – Jurrien Timber, Virgil Van Dijk, Nathan Ake – Jeremie Frimpong, Frenkie De Jong, Teunm Koopmeiners, Danny Blind – Davy Klaassen – Cody Gakpo, Steven Bergwijn
The match is set to kick-off at 7pm local time.
