Feyenoord’s match against Lazio is their biggest of the season yet – they could top their Europa League group or crash out of Europe altogether depending on the outcome of it.
Heading into the final group stage game, Arne Slot’s side sit third in their group, three points behind Lazio and Sturm Graz and level on points with Midtjylland.
They have to win to stand any chance of going through and could fail to even claim third and a spot in the Conference League if they draw or lose.
Slot has stated that he’s planning to spring a surprise, playing someone that he doesn’t think many people will expect, and according to AD that player is 22-year-old Mats Wieffer.
He’ll apparently play in midfield with Lutsharel Geertruida moving to right-back in place of Marcus Pedersen. Further forward, Danilo looks set to get the nod ahead of Santiago Gimenez.
Here’s how the team will most likely line up:
Bijlow; Geertruida, Trauner, Hancko, Lopez; Kokcu, Wieffer, Timber; Dilrosun, Danilo, Szymanski.
