Predicted Ajax XI vs Rangers

Ajax are out of the Champions League, but should be able to secure a spot in the Europa League away to Rangers.

The Dutch club’s European campaign hasn’t been a good one with them being beaten twice by both Napoli and Liverpool, losing two of those matches heavily.

They did at least beat Rangers 4-0 in their opening game, and that means they’ll finish third in the group as long as they don’t lose by as big a margin in Scotland.

Despite that though, Alfred Schreuder is still likely to play a strong starting XI given his players didn’t play at the weekend and still need to develop as a team.

He has a full squad to choose from, with everyone fit, and there therefore won’t be many changes from the match against Liverpool last time out.

Devyne Rensch will probably replace Jorge Sanchez at right-back now he’s fit again, while it’s been reported that Owen Wijndal will start ahead of Daley Blind.

Here’s how the team will most likely line up:

Pasveer; Rensch, Timber, Bassey, Wijndal; Álvarez, Berghuis, Klaassen; Bergwijn, Brobbey, Tadic.
