Ajax were knocked out of the Champions League by Liverpool, losing 3-0 on home turf to their Premier League opponents.
In what was yet another disappointing night for Alfred Schreuder’s side, here’s how well we think every player performed.
Remko Pasveer, 4 – Was too quick to come off his line for the first goal and was beaten at his near post for the third.
Jorge Sanchez, 5 – Struggled defensively and couldn’t make the most of getting the ball in some dangerous positions at the other end.
Jurrien Timber, 6 – Was generally good at the back and had some really good moments on the ball.
Calvin Bassey, 6 – Defended well most of the time.
Daley Blind, 5 – Lost his man for the first goal and looked vulnerable at the back throughout.
Edson Alvarez, 5 – Didn’t do too much wrong, or right.
Davy Klaassen, 4 – Completely invisible for the hour that he was on the pitch for.
Steven Berghuis, 7 – Most of his team’s good moments came through him, with the Dutchman continuing to thrive in a deeper role, creating a lot with his passing. The only blemish was his big miss early on.
Steven Bergwijn, 5 – Struggled to make any impact playing on the right-hand side
Brian Brobbey, 7 – Ajax’s best player, creating their two biggest chances of the night and causing the Liverpool backline real problems with his strength.
Dusan Tadic, 4 – Missed a huge chance and did very little else. Against the biggest teams, he just doesn’t look good enough anymore.
