Peter Bosz has a hard time living with PSV draw against Ajax: โ€œI thought we were completely in control in the first halfโ€

PSV manager Peter Bosz found his sideโ€™s 2-2 draw against Ajax hard to accept this weekend, especially given his teamโ€™s early momentum.

โ€œI thought we were completely in control in the first half. As a manager, I feel whether Iโ€™m sitting quietly on the bench or not. This time I was sitting quietly. Suddenly itโ€™s 1-1. For me, that goal came out of nowhere,โ€ he said in his post-match press conference, referring to the penalty converted by Kenneth Taylor.

โ€œWith the introduction of Oscar Gloukh, we found ourselves struggling,โ€ Bosz said as he analysed the second period. โ€œAjax should have taken the lead in the first phase of the second half. After that, we took control again. When you make it 2-1 just before the final whistle, you canโ€™t give it away. We did that by moving back.โ€

Bosz saw that a lot went wrong for both teams. โ€œBut we played an acceptable match. You just donโ€™t reward yourself. I think thatโ€™s the biggest shame for the new, young players. We still need to grow together. Results help with that. A team in development also needs a sense of success.โ€

Ismael Saibari scored with his head against Ajax, but also missed good chances, just like on Tuesday in the Champions League against Union.

โ€œHeโ€™s too often off-balance when he shoots. Ismael needs to find more composure and sometimes also shoot with the inside of his foot. If he can make that step, heโ€™ll become an even better player.โ€
