PEC Zwolle pick up former Anderlecht academy prospect from RKC Waalwijk on a free transfer

PEC Zwolle have announced the signing of Thierry Lutonda from RKC Waalwijk. The 23-year-old left full-back has been brought in on a free transfer for the 2024/2025 season and signs a two-year deal. Lutonda came through the academy at Anderlecht before he moved on. The defender was a Belgian youth international but is also eligible to play for the DR Congo, having been born in Kinshasha.

Lutonda only made one senior appearance for Anderlecht during the 2019/2020 season before he moved to join Waalwijk. In total he has made 81 appearances for the side, scoring twice and providing three assists. Last season he played 33 times but only managed 13 appearances this season.

PEC Zwolle will certainly need to be active in the transfer window this summer. Up front they have lost their top scorer in Lennart Thy, with the German forward set to join an unnamed side in Asia. The German forward scored 13 goals in 32 Eredivisie games for the club this season.
