Following his brace against Royal Anderlecht at the weekend, Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu is just two goals away from overtaking teammate Ally Samatta on the all time Genk goalscoring list. Onuachu currently sits on 76 goals, while Samatta is ahead on 77. Samatta has 77 goals in 200 appearances for the club, while Onuachu has a blistering 76 in only 123 matches.
When Onuachu gets to the 78 mark he will move up to third on the all time goalscoring charts for the club. His next target will be Wesley Sonck, who scored 80 times in 117 matches. Sonck is the only player with a better goals per game ratio than Onuachu, with 0.68 to the Nigerians 0.62.
Top of the list is current Zulte Waregem striker Jelle Vossen, who scored 105 goals in 248 matches. Vossen scored over half of his 200 career goals for Genk.
Onuachu will have a chance to move into third on the all time standings when his side face KV Mechelen on Friday evening. The striker is currently in form, having netted eight goals in his last five matches. The striker claimed recently that he is starting to feel back to full fitness.
