Oussama Idrissi ruled out with injury until after the World Cup

Oussama Idrissi, on loan at Feyenoord from Sevilla, has been ruled out of the World Cup after picking up a hamstring injury.

Idriss joined on loan from Sevilla in the summer and made a strong start to life back in the Netherlands, getting two goals and two assists in his first 10 matches.

Disaster struck in the 11th one though with the winger injuring his hamstring 30 minutes into the Europa League match away to Midtjylland.

The club have now confirmed that he won’t be fit enough to play again for the first half of the season, meaning that he’ll miss a number of Feyenoord games as well as the World Cup.

Despite not playing for Morocco since 2019, he still had hope of forcing his way back into the squad and going to Qatar, but that now won’t be possible.

If his recovery goes well, he’ll likely be available again from around the new year.
