Oranje womenโ€™s team drop out of top 10 world rankings just before European Championship

As per De Telegraaf, the Netherlandsโ€™ womenโ€™s football team has dropped out of the top 10 of the world rankings just before the European Championship.

The Oranje Leeuwinnen are now 11th and have swapped places with France, the last opponent in the group stage of the European Championship in Switzerland on 13 July.

England, the second opponent on July 9, also dropped a spot according to the national paper. Sarina Wiegmanโ€™s side now sit in fifth. Wales rose a spot and will face the Dutch on July 5 as number 30 in the world.

The American womenโ€™s soccer players lead the rankings, just as they did three months ago in the previous publication. Numbers two and three, Spain and Germany, remain on their tail.

Oranje mainly dropped down due to two disappointing matches in the Nations League, with Germany (4-0 defeat) and Scotland (1-1). From the four matches before that, Andries Jonkerโ€™s team got 10 points.
