Olivier Deman gets reward for Cercle Brugge season with first Belgian Red Devils call up

Olivier Deman has received his first call up to the Belgian national team. The 23-year-old Cercle Brugge winger has been included in Domenico Tedesco’s squad for the upcoming qualifiers against Austria and Estonia in a few weeks time. Deman has played 38 games for Cercle this season, scoring once and providing seven assists. He has mainly operated as a left-midfielder in a midfield five.

Deman has previously been capped at youth level for the Red Devils, playing seven games for the U21 and scoring once. Since making his Belgian Pro League debut for Cercle during the 2018/2019 season, Deman has played 88 times for the Green and Black, scoring four goals and providing 11 assists. Cercle Brugge finished sixth this season, missing out on a European ticket to Gent.

Deman is just one of a number of Pro League players who have been included in the squad by Tedesco, The first game against Austria will be at home and is already sold out, while the second game will be in Estonia.
