OH Leuven want to bring in another winger from Union St Gilloise

After signing Casper Terho earlier in the summer, OH Leuven look set to bring in another winger from Union St Gilloise. German/Eritrean winger Henok Teklab looks set to leave Brussels and join OH Leuven. According to HLN, an agreement is close between the two sides. Teklab has struggled to make inroads at Union due to injuries and being surpassed by other players in recent years. A move to OH Leuven will give him a chance at regular football again.

Teklab was signed by Union in 2023 from German side Preussen Münster from the Regionalliga. Teklab went from the fourth division of German football the to top division of Belgian football thanks to six goals in 28 games for Münster. In his first year with Union he played 30 games, scoring once and grabbing two assists. Last season, injuries saw Teklab only make nine appearances for the side, with one assist.

After picking up just one point from their opening four games, OH Leuven have won two games in a row going into the international break. Both were narrow 1-0 wins and fears remain about the sides inability to score goals. Fans will hope Teklab can improve their chances with some more creativity out wide and perhaps a goal threat.
