OH Leuven v Genk Preview: Two sides looking to grab first three points of the season after slow start

Genk travel to OH Leuven this evening hoping to pick up their first three points of the season. The side, who led the league most of the way last season, have picked up just one point from their opening five games. Thorsten Fink will be expecting a performance against an OH Leuven side who have looked poor so far under new head coach David Hubert.

OH Leuven struggled for goals last season, and while they have scored three goals in their opening three games, it is at the other end that they have been poor. Their 3-1 defeat to Antwerp last weekend meant the side have already shipped 10 goals to open the season. Hubert must already be concerned that the problems that plagued the side last season seem to already be apparent so far this campaign. With time left in the window, he will be hoping for more quality. However, they have been active, as they always are.

Genk, on the other hand, are managing a situation whereby they expect top scorer from last season Tolu Arokodare to leave this summer. As a result, Fink has been going with Hyun-Gyu Oh instead. Oh has already scored once this season, but is appears evident that he does not have the quality of Arokodare. The Nigerian made a big impact when he came on against Standard, which may tempt Fink to go back to the striker despite his imminent departure. Genk were poor defensively last time out and will likely not be tested as much by OH Leuven, but will want to ensure they donโ€™t gift the side goals like last weekend.

Last season Genk lost this fixture 3-1, with OH Leuven goalkeeper Tobe Leysen putting in a man of the match display. He will likely be busy again this Friday evening.
