OH Leuven make it just two league wins in 13 after RFC Seraing defeat

OH Leuven became the first side to lose to RFC Seraing at the Stade du Pairay in the league for over a year when they went down 2-1 in Liege. More concerning for OHL is that this now means they have only won two of their past 13 league games. The side have now slipped outside of the top 10 and a play-off two spot that looked to be theirs for the taking a few months ago. With 31 points, there may not be talk of relegation, but if this form continues then the side could see themselves drawn into the scrap to avoid the drop. Zulte Waregem, who occupy the final relegation spot, are just 11 points behind OHL.

Since a 5-0 thumping of Seraing before the World Cup break, the side have failed to beat any of the teams below them. Kortrijk beat them 3-2 at home, Eupen drew 1-1 with them and now Seraing have gotten revenge with their 2-1 win. The side now have a run of tough games, starting with inform Cercle Brugge and then a play-off one chasing Gent side. Following this, they play third placed Royal Antwerp. The side will certainly want to get at least one win in these fixtures before they face Zulte Waregem at the beginning of March. If their poor form continues then Mbaye Leye’s side could see themselves a lot closer to OHL than they would have imagined a few months ago.

Marc Brys is someone that can be trusted to know what needs to be done to turn things around, but they will certainly want to nip this bad form in the bud as soon as possible to avoid being dragged into the mess.
