OH Leuven, KV Mechelen and VFL Bochum looking to sign Anderlecht striker

Het Nieuwsblad is reporting that OH Leuven, KV Mechelen and Bochum are three of the known teams looking to sign Benito Raman this January. The two Belgian Pro League clubs are in desperate need of a striker with the qualities of Raman, but the issue remains as to whether they have the financial capacity to provide a contract he deems acceptable. Anderlecht are looking to move on from the former Schalke 04 forward, whose wages are costing them around €1m a year. His contract expires in the summer and there is no desire for an extension, with the Mauves hoping to move him on during this window.

The best offer from a financial standpoint has already been turned down by Raman. Turkish side Samsunspor would have given Raman a decent contract, but he wants to remain either in or close to Belgium for family reasons. Bundesliga club VFL Bochum are also showing interest. The side are currently 14th in the German top tier, six points above the relegation zone. Like OHL and Mechelen, the Bundesliga side are also crying out for a goal scorer. Winger Takuma Asano leads them with five goals in 16 league games.
