OH Leuven have announced the signing of Erling Haaland’s cousin Jonatan Braut Brunes. The 23-year-old joins from Norwegian side Strømsgodset, where he had scored six goals in 16 Eliteserien games, while also providing two assists. Since joining Strømsgodset midway through the 2022 campaign, Braut Brunes has scored 11 goals in 31 games for the club. OH Leuven are in need of strikers and will be hoping that the new man can have an instant impact.
Kortrijk were also interested in the forward, but they have instead opted for Thierry Ambrose of Oostende. OH Leuven are currently second bottom after picking up just one point from their opening three games, which came with a late equaliser against 10 man Charleroi. They lost their first home game of the season 2-1 to newly promoted RWDM, before a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Union St Gilloise last weekend.
Braut Brunes has signed a three-year-deal with the club.
