Official | West Ham sign Mohammed Kudus from Ajax for €45m

West Ham have completed the signing of Mohammed Kudus from Ajax. The Hammers will pay around €45m for the 23-year-old attacking midfielder, who has signed a five-year contract at the London Stadium valid until June 2028. Kudus will wear the number 14 shirt for West Ham.

After weeks of rumours and reports, West Ham have finally landed their top transfer target. Kudus has been on the radar of several top sides this summer, after impressing for Ajax last season and in their first three games of the new campaign.

Last season, the 24-time Ghana international scored 18 goals and provided six assists in 42 appearances. The former Nordsjaelland talent was one of Ajax’s stand-out stars as the Dutch giants finished third in the Eredivisie. The midfielder had already kicked off the new campaign in superb fashion. He scored in the 75th minute of Ajax’s 4-1 opening-day victory over Heracles and provided an assist in their 2-2 draw with Excelsior. He then went on to score a hat-trick in Ajax’s 4-1 Europa League victory over Ludogorets last Thursday.

At West Ham, Mohammed Kudus will link up with former Ajax teammate Edson Álvarez, who recently completed a move to East London. It’s definitely an exciting time to be a West Ham player, especially after Saturday’s 3-1 victory at Brighton. The addition of Mohammed Kudus could turn out to be a brilliant bit of business from the Hammers, who are looking to build on last season’s 14th-place finish in the Premier League.
