Nottingham Forest looking into signing Ajax striker on deadline day

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest have enquired about signing Chuba Akpom from Ajax on deadline day. The forward only joined Ajax in the summer, but now it appears he is attracting interest from the Premier League side. Romano claims that the Dutch side are not keen to agree terms with Forest, however they are wanting to add to a number of signings they have already made on deadline day.

Since joining from Middlesbrough last summer, the 28-year-old has played 20 times, scoring nine goals, five of which have come in the Eredivisie. However, of the 13 league matches that Akpom has played for the Amsterdam side, he has only started three. Last season with Middlesbrough, Akpom finished the campaign with 29 goals in 42 games.

Ajax have already seen one player leave on deadline day. 22-year-old left-back Anass Salah-Eddine is set to join another Eredivisie side in FC Twente on a multi-year contract.
