Christian Brüls has not been offered a new contract by Sint-Truiden, despite his current deal expiring in the summer of 2023. In an interview with TVL Sportcafe the experienced midfielder confirmed that no contract had been offered “From January I can talk to other clubs. Maybe they think I am too old”.
Brüls finished the 2021/2022 season with seven goals and a team leading six assists as Sint-Truiden finished in the top 10, narrowly missing out on qualification for the play-offs.
Brüls is one of a number of players at the club who are out of contract in the summer. Defenders Robert Bauer and Wolke Janssens, as well as midfielder Mory Konate, all have contracts expiring at the end of the 2022/2023 season.
The former Stade Rennais and OGC Nice midfielder joined Sint-Truiden midway through the 202/2021 season from Westerlo. Since then, Brüls has played 59 matches for the Canaries, scoring nine and getting 10 assists.
