Le Soir are reporting that Nicolas Raskin was in London over the weekend to conduct a medical ahead of a proposed move to Rangers. However, they are also reporting that despite an agreement between club and player and a good medical, Standard Liege have yet to hear from the Scottish club regarding a fee.
Raskin can join the club for free at the end of the year, given that his contract will be up by then. Any fee agreed now is likely to be minimal, given that Standard would be looking to receive some sort of payment for their star player.
The central midfielder was dropped from the Standard first team after contract negotiations stalled, with the player’s current deal up at the end of this season. Prior to being dismissed from the first team, Raskin played 17 games this season for Standard, scoring once and providing four assists.
Standard are also likely to lose Selim Amallah and Noe Dussenne during this winter transfer window.
