Nicolas Raskin believes Standard Liege can reach the top four

Standard Liege’s instrumental midfielder Nicolas Raskin believes that the side is capable of a top four finish. As reported by Voetbalkrant, after the match the midfielder said “The top 4? Why not? Given the recent results, the sense, the will to all go in the same direction”.

Raskin was talking after his sides 3-0 victory over struggling Zulte Waregem, in which the midfielder produced a fine solo run to set up the third goal for Stipe Perica. Raskin was reportedly unsettled at the club at the beginning of the season, but has since been won round by Ronny Deila and the transfers the club has made, including the loan of Philip Zinckernagel.

Under Deila, the side that finished in a disappointing 14th last season are already up to fifth place this year, just four points off of the top four. They have beaten two of the top four at home, Club Brugge 3-0 and Antwerp also 3-0. They face Union in the final game before the World Cup.
