Newcastle United loanee ruled out of action for several weeks due to muscle injury

Feyenoord have announced that Yankuba Minteh will be out for ‘several weeks’ due to injury. The 19-year-old winger, who joined the club on loan from Newcastle United during the summer, picked up a muscle injury during Feyenoord’s 4-0 win over Vitesse last Saturday.

Minteh will miss Feyenoord’s crucial Champions League clash against Lazio on Wednesday evening, and his side’s trip to Enschede to play Twente on Sunday. The Gambia international will be a huge loss for Feyenoord seeing as made a massive impact on Arne Slot’s side this season.

In nine Eredivisie appearances, Minteh has scored three goals and provided one assist. The 2004-born talent has adapted to life in the Netherlands incredibly quickly and he’s certainly a player that Newcastle fans should be excited about. Unfortunately, Feyenoord fans will have to wait a while to see him play again. The current Eredivisie champions are currently third in the table behind PSV and AZ.
