Newcastle United loanee bags brilliant brace for Feyenoord as Arne Slot’s side claim historic victory over Ajax

Feyenoord claimed an unbelievable 6-0 victory over Ajax on Sunday, making Eredivisie history as the Amsterdam club fell to their biggest-ever defeat in the competition. For Feyenoord, it was their biggest-ever victory over Ajax as they registered 30 goal attempts to the visitors’ one attempt towards goal. One of the stars of the match was Newcastle United loanee Yankuba Minteh, who has been remarkable ever since making the move to Rotterdam last summer. The Gambia international bagged a brilliant brace, scoring in both halves of the match.

Yankuba Minteh, 19, has netted nine times already this season whilst providing four assists in the Eredivisie. At 19 years old, he has proved that he’s capable of playing on the biggest stages after performing in the league, KNVB Cup and Champions League this season. The winger has spectacular speed and is exceptional in taking on and beating defenders.

Minteh’s first goal of the match came in the 35th minute. He positioned himself near the penalty spot and tapped the ball into the back of the net from 12-yards out following Bart Nieuwkoop’s cross. The teenage talent also claimed the assist for Feyenoord’s first goal of the game. In the second half, Minteh received the ball on the edge of the area before curling the into the net in spectacular style. Newcastle fans have a lot to look forward to with this player.
