Newcastle United considering recalling Yankuba Minteh from loan spell with Feyenoord

According to The Telegraph, Newcastle United are considering recalling Yankuba Minteh from his loan spell with Feyenoord following his fantastic start to life in the Netherlands. The Gambian winger has impressed during his first 14 games under Arne Slot, making an impact in both the Eredivisie and the Champions League. The 19-year-old is quickly becoming a fan favourite at De Kuip after scoring three goals and providing two assists for the current Dutch champions.

Newcastle signed Yankuba Minteh from Danish side Odense Boldklub in the summer, spending just over €8m on the versatile forward. Minteh was immediately loaned out to Feyenoord for the season, but he could be on his way back to St. James’ Park sooner than expected. 

Newcastle are currently missing several crucial players due to injuries, and recalling Minteh could help to bolster the attack. Callum Wilson, Jacob Murphy, Harvey Barnes, Joe Willock and Elliot Anderson are all unavailable for the time being, as well as other players. With January just around the corner, Eddie Howe has many decisions to make regarding reinforcements. Yankuba Minteh is certainly a player that Newcastle supporters should be excited about.
