As per Voetbal International, NAC Breda are considering a move for Kamal Sowah (25) on a short-term deal. The Ghanaian winger recently left Club Brugge, yet his time as a free agent could be very brief after interest from his old manager Carl Hoefkens.
Hoefkens was the man who signed Sowah at Club Brugge. Later, he hired him again (on loan) when coach of Standard Liege. The Belgian is clearly charmed by Sowah, who would offer him an extra option on the wing – a position that NAC don’t have too many options in.
It could also be a reunion with Sowah for captain Jan Van Den Bergh. The two played together in the past at OH Leuven, when Sowah joined on loan from Premier League side Leicester City.
Sowah’s Club Brugge contract was terminated on Thursday (today) as he found little playing opportunities. NAC can acquire the pacey player, who also turned out for AZ Alkmaar on loan, on a free transfer.
Sowah may now get a second chance in the Eredivisie after said loan. At Alkmaar, he made just 11 appearances in six months. NAC would be the sixth club for the attacker after Leicester City, Leuven, Brugge, AZ and Standard.
