Moroccan youth international Oussama El Azzouzi set to swap Brussels for Bologna

ETV are reporting that Oussama El Azzouzi has been seen in Bologna where he is set to have a medical. The Moroccan midfielder, who only joined Union St Gilloise last summer from FC Emmen, appears to be set to swap Brussels for Italy in the coming days. El Azzouzi, who was part of the Moroccan AFCON U23 winning side, made 34 appearances for Union and scored two goals. The majority of his appearances came from the bench, although by the end of the season he was starting in place of the injured Teddy Teuma.

El Azzouzi began his career with FC Groningen’s youth academy, before moving to DOVO. In 2021 he moved on a free to FC Emmen where he played 36 games and scored once. It appears that he is set for just another one year stint in Belgium. It is not clear how much the Italian side are paying for the midfielder.

This is the latest player to depart Union after Siebe Van der Heyden moved to Spanish side Mallorca. The aforementioned Teddy Teuma has moved to France to join Reims, while fellow Moroccan defender Ismaël Kandouss has remained in Belgium but moved to Gent.
