Mike Willems joins FC Emmen as technical director

Mike Willems has joined Eredivisie side FC Emmen as the technical director on an 18-month contract, the club has confirmed.

The former PEC Zwolle director of football will be responsible for the day-to-day and operational management of the technical team, including the scouting apparatus.

At the club, Mike will mainly work with chief scout Jurjan Mannes as well as scouts Grads Fühler, Jan Korte along with head coach Dick Lukkien.

Chairman Ronald Lubbers will also maintain a short line with Mike: “With Mike we add a lot of knowledge and experience to the entire technical apparatus, this gives us the opportunity to grow in the technical field and to set up the organisation well. He has proven for ten years at PEC Zwolle that he has a good eye for talent.”

Willems starts his first job since disputing his compensation at PEC Zwolle having left the club last summer which was then taken to a KNVB committee which resulted in Zwolle paying Willems compensation.
