Mexico national team head coach Jaime Lozano encourages Santiago Giménez to make a move away from Feyenoord

Voetbal International reports that Mexico boss Jaime Lozano believes Santiago Giménez should make a move away from the Netherlands to continue his development. Giménez has already found the back of the net 13 times so far this season in just 12 Eredivisie appearances. The Feyenoord forward is one of the most in-form attackers in Europe at the moment and there’s no doubt that clubs will be battling for his signature in January.

Speaking about the 22-year-old striker, Mexico national team head coach Jaime Lozano said ‘Santi can become the present and future of this Mexico side. I think he is doing excessively well at Feyenoord.’ Lozano believes that Giménez should be playing in a ‘better league’ than the Eredivisie. ‘I also think he is ready for the step up to a better league. It would be good for him to make a step up. The Eredivisie is a good level, but I think he has proved he can handle a higher level in Europe.’

As well as the 13 Eredivisie goals to his name, Santiago Giménez has also scored twice in the Champions League this season. The player definitely has what it takes to succeed at the highest level. Tottenham are one of the sides that are reportedly keen on signing Giménez in January. It’ll be very interesting to see where the striker will be playing in the New Year.
