Bjorn Meijer’s bad luck for injuries continued in a recent runout for the Dutch U21s. After barely ten minutes on Monday evening in a game that ended 1-1 against English opposition, the Club Brugge left-back had to be withdrawn after pulling up and holding his thigh.
Meijer only recently returned following a knee operation and a five-month absence. Last season, he was sidelined for two months with Pubalgia, a chronic condition that causes pain in the groin and lower abdomen.
Just before this international break, the defender was a regular at Club Brugge for the first time, but now it looks like the former Groningen man may be sidelined again for a lengthy spell.
