Mark van Bommel discuss latest on Daley Blind’s potential Antwerp transfer

Mark van Bommel has hinted he expects to see the Daley Blind transfer rumour to come to an end soon as Royal Antwerp look set to welcome the Dutch defender, Voetbalkrant reports.

The Antwerp manager has not directly confirmed whether the former Manchester United player is on his to Stadium BOSUIL but expects some activity from the club in the winter transfer window.

Blind, 32, is thought to arrive at the Belgian Pro League side during the January transfer window with Ajax thought to grant the player to leave the Johan Cruyff Stadium on a free transfer.

Van Bommel also has his say on Daley Blind coming over from Ajax to Antwerp. “I wouldn’t mind if he comes. Marc Overmars and I are in constant conversation. Everyone is looking around the transfer market at the moment but I do expect us to do something.”

It has been reported that Ajax are prepared to let Blind go on a free after an impressive spell in the World Cup but are aware he is not in Alfred Schreuder’s short-term plans with both Owen Wijndal and Devyne Rensch higher up the pecking order.
