Mark van Bommel compares Aboubakary Koita to Dutch international

Speaking ahead of the clash between Antwerp and Sint-Truiden, the Great Old head coach was full of praise for Aboubakary Koita. The newly capped Mauritanian international is having his best ever season, with 10 goals in 14 games for the Canaries this season, making him joint top scorer with Togo and Cercle Brugge forward Kevin Denkey.

As reported by Het Nieuwsblad, Van Bommel felt that the play of Koita this season has reminded him of former Club Brugge attacker Noa Lang. The Dutch international was dynamic according to van Bommel, who also described him as difficult to stop. During his time in Belgium Lang was one of the best players in the league. He managed to score 38 goals in 125 appearances for the side, winning the title twice.

Over the summer he left for PSV Eindhoven, where he has scored five goals in 13 games. He’s also scored two goals in 10 games for the Dutch national team.
