Marcos Senesi joining Bournemouth but Fredrik Aursnes to Benfica ‘not so concrete,’ says Feyenoord manager

Feyenoord manager Arne Slot has admitted that Marcos Senesi is leaving the club for Bournemouth but says Fredrik Aursnes joining Benfica isn’t as certain as reports claim.

There’s been something of an exodus this summer at Feyenoord with Tyrell Malacia and Luis Sinsterra being sold while Guus Til, Reiss Nelson and Cyriel Dessers haven’t returned after the end of their loan spells.

That’s looked set to continue in recent weeks with Senesi and Aursnes being heavily linked to Bournemouth and Benfica respectively.

Explaining his team selection for the first match of the season, which included Aursnes but not Senesi, Slot stated that the latter is set to leave but the former isn’t.

“That’s not so concrete at the moment,” Slot said of Aursnes’ move to Benfica.

“There may be interest in him, but that applies to more players.

“With Marcos, it is in the final phase. Then it is not logical to put him on the field, when he is already with one and a half legs at his new club. That doesn’t apply to Fredrik yet.”
