Despite signing Casemiro, Manchester United are still looking to sign Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona before the end of the transfer window.
Man Utd have been trying to sign De Jong all summer but, while they’ve had an offer accepted by Barcelona, the Dutchman has not been interested in joining the club.
It looked like they’d finally given up trying to convince him otherwise when it emerged that they’d instead reached a deal to sign Casemiro from Real Madrid instead, with most assuming the Brazilian was joining instead.
However, De Telegraaf have stated that Erik ten Hag and his new side are still working on an offer that they hope will secure the services of De Jong.
“The club continues to bet on the arrival of Frenkie de Jong,” the Dutch publication stated.
“For whom the last week of the transfer will be just as exciting as it will be for Ten Hag.”
