Manchester United & Ajax finalising €100m Antony deal

As reported by The Athletic and Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United and Ajax are on the verge of concluding a €100m deal for Brazilian winger Antony, as the summer transfer window rolls into its final hours.

The deal breaks the Eredivisie sale record for a single player.

Ajax decided on Friday to reject a third bid from the Red Devils for the player, worth in the region of €90m, for the 22-year-old forward.

MUFC on Sunday reached a breakthrough by finally meeting Ajax’s initial demands, which stood at the nine-figure amount when taking bonuses into account.

Ajax left Antony out of their squad vs FC Utrecht on Sunday, in what was the second consecutive game that the 22-year-old missed, having been absent for the win over Sparta Rotterdam a week ago.

Erik ten Hag lands another of his former Ajax players, following the signing of 24-year-old left-sided defender Lisandro Martinez.

Antony will sign a contract until June 2027, with the option to extend for a sixth year. All being well, he will undergo a medical tomorrow and then sign his contract with MUFC.
