Manchester City and Napoli tracking Bilal El Khannouss

Het Laste Nieuws are reporting that both Manchester City and Napoli, among other clubs, are tracking 18 year-old Genk attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannous. The Moroccan was called up to the national team for the World Cup and made his international debut during the third place defeat to Croatia.

This season, El Khannouss has made 18 appearances in the league and provided two assists. Having made just one appearance at the end of the last season, the teenager only broke into the first team this season, but is already being tipped to become Belgium’s record transfer sale in the future.

Genk are currently top of the league in Belgium, having only lost twice in 19 matches. They have won 16 and have the leagues best defence and best attack. This attack was bolstered with the recent signing of Yira Sor from Slavia Prague, one of two signings the side has made this winter window. The other was young Ecuadorian defender Alfed Caicedo, who will spend the rest of the season playing with Jong Genk in the second tier.
