Malacia and PSV’s technical director reflect on defender’s completed loan transfer from Manchester United

Tyrell Malacia’s loan to PSV from Manchester United was formally confirmed on Tuesday evening. The leading player and Earnest Stewart reflected their thoughts on the Eindhoven club’s website,

Malacia (25) is grateful for the chance to play football again: “I’m coming back from a long injury, but I’m fit now and I know my time will come again. Every tough period also has positive elements and in this case, I’ve become much stronger physically and mentally. I have more patience, I’m more mature, I know my body better and things like that. I’m ready to go and hopefully win multiple prizes with PSV.”

Stewart is happy that he was able to bring in a player with Malacia’s track record: “We are very happy that we can welcome a player who can be of immediate value to the PSV first team. Tyrell has a lot of experience at the highest level and is also a player with a lot of potential. We look forward to seeing him in action.”

PSV also announced that an option to purchase Malacia following a successful loan stint has been negotiated.
