Luton Town loanee believes in EURO 2024 Belgian opportunity

In an interview with Gazet Van Antwerpen, Luton Town midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga says he has not given up on making the Belgian squad for EURO 2024. The 24-year-old has been blighted by injuries so far this season but is hoping to be back in action before the end of the calendar year. So far the central midfielder, on loan from Arsenal, has only been able to make two appearances for the Hatters in the return to the Premier League.

During the interview Lokonga was keen to iterate that his focus remains on helping Luton remain in the Premier League, but in the process he hopes to perform to a level that will impress Domenico Tedesco. Since bursting on to the scene at Anderlecht, Lokonga has made just one appearance for the Red Devils. After 78 appearances for the Mauves he moved to Arsenal, where he struggled to break into the first team. He has made just 39 appearances for the Gunners, spending the second half of last season on loan at Crystal Palace.

Lokonga was tipped for great things after his early period with Anderlecht, and many will hope he can begin to regain that form and confidence over the next few months with Luton.
