Lille target Gift Orban and Barcelona target Arthur Vermeeren most valuable Belgian Pro League players

According to Transfermarkt, Gift Orban and Arthur Vermeeren are the two most valuable players in the Belgian Pro League. Orban, who only joined the league in January from Norway, is valued at €20m according to the site. He only cost Gent €3m in January, but now could bring them in a hefty profit. It’s not surprise that he tops the charts after an explosive few months in Belgium. The Nigerian striker scored 20 goals for the club across all competitions in just 22 games. Lille are one of the sides said to be leading the race to sign the striker, although the Buffaloes are keen to keep him one more season at least.

Vermeeren got his chance in the Antwerp first team because of injuries, but since then became a key member of their midfield. At just 18-years-old, he is considered one of the brightest Belgian prospects within the country. Transfermarkt value the player at €17m, a major increase on what he was valued at to start the season. Like with Orban, Antwerp are keen to keep the player and develop him further, before eventually cashing in as he moves to a bigger league. Clubs such as Barcelona and Manchester United have shown interest in the midfielder in recent weeks.
