HLN are reporting that Lille and Crystal Palace are interested in Genk’s Mike Trésor. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder finished the season with 24 assists and eight goals in 42 appearances across all competitions. Trésor, who picked up the Player of the Season award, made the most goal contributions in the Belgian Pro League as Genk finished the campaign in second place.
Ligue 1 side Lille and Premier League club Crystal Palace are said to be the two sides showing the most interest in the midfielder. Genk are yet to receive an offer for the assist king, but clubs have inquired. At the beginning of the month, Trésor received his first call-up to the Belgian national team. Belgium will play Austria and Estonia in Euro Qualifiers this month.
If the in-demand Wilfried Zaha leaves Selhurst Park this summer, Mike Trésor could be the perfect replacement for the Ivorian. The only problem is that Palace are yet to appoint a new manager.
Trésor will be aware of Lille’s history with developing Belgian footballers. In the past, the French club have had several successful Belgians play for them, including Eden Hazard, Kevin Mirallas, Divock Origi and Amadou Onana. It will certainly be interesting to see whether Mike Trésor stays or leaves Genk this summer.
