Leandro Trossard and Jan Vertonghen out for warm-up game with Egypt, but Eden Hazard set to start

Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Leandro Trossard will not be available for the warm-up game with Egypt on the 18th of November. Trossard was injured during training, but the former Everton head coach is confident he will be fit for the group stages. As reported by Het Nieuwsblad, Martinez confirmed that Real Madrid’s Eden Hazard will star the warm-up game.

Anderlecht’s 35 year-old defender Jan Vertonghen is also out of the game with Egypt. Vertonghen appears to still be suffering form an injury he picked up in the warm up before a club match against Antwerp a week or so ago. The Red Devils recently called up Jason Denayer, who did not make the original 26 man squad, as defensive cover in case of an injury. The team appear confident that Vertonghen will be fit to feature in Qatar.

Belgium begin their World Cup campaign against debutants Canada on the 23rd of November, before facing Morocco and 2018 finalists Croatia.
