Lazio begin negotiations with AZ Alkmaar over the signing of Milos Kerkez

Matteo Moretto reports that Lazio have begun negotiations with AZ Alkmaar over the signing of Milos Kerkez. The Serie A side have been eyeing a move for the Hungarian left-back for some time now, and finally, the transfer could happen. Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri wants Kerkez to be his player before the start of the new season.

Milos Kerkez is one of the hottest prospects in Europe at the moment. The 19-year-old moved from AC Milan’s academy to AZ Alkmaar in January 2022. Since then he’s featured 57 times in all competitions for the Dutch club, scoring five goals and providing eight assists. The Hungarian international was also part of the AZ squad that beat Lazio in both legs of the Europa Conference League round of 16. Kerkez scored the winner in the first-leg.

Kerkez was previously in the interest of Benfica. The Portuguese champions are yet to make an offer for the player. Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri is said to be very fond of Milos Kerkez and hopes to add him to the selection soon.
