KV Oostende top scorer Fraser Hornby out with a shoulder injury

KV Oostende will be without top scorer Fraser Hornby for the upcoming matches in the Belgian Pro League. As reported by Het Nieuwsblad, Hornby suffered a shoulder injury that means he will not be able to feature in a couple of games. However, the side are also relieved that he does not require surgery, increasing the chances that he will recover sooner.

Hornby joined Oostende on loan from Ligue 1 side Reims in the summer. The 23 year-old Scottish striker has gone on to score five goals in 12 games, as well as providing one assist. He is the current top scorer for the side, with one goal more than Ghanaian midfielder David Atanga who has four.

While Hornby is a blow, the club are delighted that key midfielder Maxime D’Arpino has returned from injury. Former Lyon youth player D’Arpino has not played a single game for the side this season, after featuring in 29 last year. The 26 year-old suffered a cruciate ligament and meniscus injury back in April 2022, with him only just resuming training this month.
