Kuwas follows Mühren’s example and remains loyal to FC Volendam

Brandley Kuwas has extended his expiring contract by a year to follow newly-promoted FC Volendam into the Eredivisie. The experienced winger has followed the example of Robert Mühren, who also recently signed a new deal.

“We are pleased that Brandley, with his Eredivisie experience, will be of value to FC Volendam for at least another season. He will join the group on Thursday”, said technical director Patrick Busby in the press release. The contracts of veterans Vurnon Anita (36) and Jerson Cabral (34) were recently not extended.

Kuwas, who made his debut in professional football at FC Volendam, is in his second period at Het Andere Oranje, for whom he has played 146 official matches, scored 22 times and provided 29 assists. The winger previously played for Excelsior, Heracles Almelo, Al-Nasr, Al-Jazira, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Giresunspor.

With Ozan Kökcü, Precious Ugwu, Dion Vlak and Gibson Yah, Volendam have already acquired four new players since promotion to the Eredivisie.
