Kortrijk’s star player linked with a move to Cardiff City

According to Sacha Tavolieri, Abdelkahar Kadri has met with Cardiff City to discuss a move to the Welsh club. The Algerian midfielder has been Kortrijk’s best player of the past two seasons and he had been linked with a move to Ajax. This may be why, according to Tavolieri, the midfielder is not fully behind the move as of yet. Given that Kortrijk and Cardiff share Vincent Tan as an owner, if an agreement between the player and club were to be made a transfer should be able to go through relatively quickly.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder has played for the side since joining from Paradou AC in the summer of 2021. Kadri is still under contract with Kortrijk until 2026 and at the start of last year was made captain to try and convince him to remain with the club. In 79 games for Kortrijk over the past three seasons he has scored 12 goals and grabbed 11 assists. Kadri has also been capped at international level by Algeria.
