HLN have given an update on the situation at Kortrijk regarding the takeover by the owners of Burnley. The report has confirmed that the sale should still be going ahead, however the delay has led to staff and fans wanting more clarity on why it has not been officially announced yet. When it was unofficially announced that the deal was back on, it was clear in terms of the recruitment of players that Kortrijk had new impetus in strengthening a threadbare squad.
However, there has stil not been an official announcement regarding the departure of Vincent Tan, who remains keen to sell the club. According to HLN, Vincent Kompany and Ed Still have frequently chatted about football related issues, given that the two have a relationships from when they were doing their coaching badges.
With the transfer window now shut, Kortrijk and Still are left to work with the squad they have. However, the side have really struggled to start the season, having not won a single game and sitting bottom of the league.
