Kortrijk set to announce signing of Christalino Atemona from Hertha Berlin

Elian Coussement is reporting that Kortrijk are on the verge of announcing the signing of German youth international Christalino Atemona. The central defender has been on trial with the relegation threatened club for a few weeks and looks to have done enough to convince the club to sign him.

Atemona comes in as the club has made clear that experienced defender Aleksandr Radovanovic is free to find a new club in January. Alongside Alexandre De Bruyn and Amine Benchaib, Radovanovic has been training with the Kortrijk B team ahead of the January transfer window opening.

Atemona has been caped at U18, U19 and U20 level for the German national team, but has yet to make an appearance in the Hertha first team. He was transferred from the U19 into the second team back in the summer of 2021, going on to make 15 appearances in the Regionalliga and scoring once.

Kortrijk are currently on their third manager of the season, with former Eupen head coach Bernd Storck taking over from Adnan Custovic.
