As per reports from Voetbal International, the KNVB are re-launching the 2004 Oranje shirt in collaboration with Nike. According to the football association, it is a tribute to ‘an iconic generation’. The shirt is intended as a lifestyle item or collector’s item and will not be worn as an official match shirt.
Greats such as Ruud van Nistelrooy, Arjen Robben and Edgar Davids all played in the shirt. The new version has the familiar orange colour, the V-neck design, and the materials have been upgraded compared to 2004. The reissue is available from the 18th of April in a limited edition via the KNVB and Nike online stores.
‘With this release we are not only bringing back a beautiful design, but also the mentality of an unforgettable generation’, says Dave Dekker, commercial director of the KNVB.
‘This beautiful Total 90 reissue is a beautiful ode to the fighters and style icons that have inspired us and still inspire us.’
