Jordan Henderson set to undergo medical in Amsterdam after agreeing to join Ajax on a two-and-a-half year deal

According to Fabrizio Romano, Jordan Henderson has reached a full agreement with Ajax and will travel to Amsterdam on Thursday. The 33-year-old midfielder will undergo medical tests before putting pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year contract. Lot’s of work has been going on behind the scenes to get the deal done as quickly as possible. Henderson could be in the Matchday squad for Ajax’s Eredivisie clash with Waalwijk this Sunday.

On Wednesday, Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq agreed to let Jordan Henderson leave just six months into his three-year contract. The England international moved to the Middle East with a plan to help grow the Saudi Pro League into one of the best in the world. Things haven’t gone to plan for the ex-Liverpool man, and a move back to Europe is almost complete.

Henderson will play for Ajax, who are currently fifth in the Eredivisie following a dreadful start to the campaign. They’re finally back on track but still sit 23 points behind league leaders PSV Eindhoven. Jordan Henderson will bring much needed experience into this young Ajax squad, as they aim to finish the season in a European place.
