Jordan Henderson set to miss Ajax’s next three games including next months De Klassieker

Ajax manager John Van ‘t Schip has confirmed that Jordan Henderson is likely to miss Ajax’s next three games due to injury, which means he could be out of action for next months De Klassieker with Feyenoord. Henderson has featured nine times for the Dutch giants since making the move from Saudi Arabia, but the club have won just once with the England international in the lineup. Despite the disappointing results he’s still had a huge impact on and off the pitch. His latest setback will see him miss a series of crucial games.

Jordan Henderson will definitely miss this weekends clash with PEC Zwolle and Ajax’s following fixture with Go Ahead Eagles on the 4th of April. Three days later, Ajax travel to De Kuip for a crucial De Klassieker with current holders Feyenoord. Along with Jordan Henderson, Josip Sutalo and Steven Berghuis are also out with injuries.

A nightmare campaign has seen Ajax lose seven and draw eight of their 26 games so far this season. The club are currently fifth in the table with one win from their last seven league games, leaving them set for their worst finish since the 99/00 campaign. During Thursday’s press conference, John Van ‘t Schip also revealed that he will not continue as manager next season, but he may take up a new role at the club.
