Jordan Henderson set for return to England as Ajax learn Europa Conference League opponents

Jordan Henderson will potentially play football in England for the first time since leaving for Saudi-Arabia in the summer when Ajax travel to the midlands for a clash with Aston Villa in the Europa Conference League. After the Dutch side scrapped through their Round of 32 tie with Norway’s FK Bodø/Glimt, their reward is a tie with the Premier League club.

During the group stages, Aston Villa only lost once as they topped a group with AZ Alkmaar Zrinjski Mstar and Legia Warszawa. During their trip to the Netherlands in the group stages Unai Emery’s side ran out comfortable 4-1 winners. Ajax did face Premier League opposition during their group stage campaign, losing twice to Brighton. In the away leg they lost 2-0 to the side from the coast.

The first leg is set to take place on the 7th of March, with Ajax drawn as the home team. They will then travel to England on the 14th of March for the second leg.
