Jacob Barrett Laursen has red card overturned, but Philip Zinckernagel and Adem Zorgane remain suspended

Jacob Barrett Laursen has had his red card against RSC Charleroi overturned by the Belgian refereeing department. As reported by Het Nieuwsblad, the department ruled that the offence committed by the Danish defender warranted a yellow rather than a red card. Laursen will now be eligible to play for Standard Liege in their upcoming clash with Royal Antwerp.

Laursens team mate, Philip Zinckernagel, was also sent off during the Walloon derby on Sunday. The Norwegian attacker will be suspended for the upcoming game against Antwerp, as his red card has not been overturned.

Standard’s opponents from the weekend, Charleroi, will be without midfielder Adem Zorgane who was also sent off during the derby. Zorgane was given a three match suspension, yet Charleroi are appealing the decision.

The derby was decided by an unfortunate own goal from Charleroi’s Jackson Tchatchoua, as Standard won 1-0 to move up into 6th place in the standings.
